Where do I buy your product?

Check with your nearest Case Construction tractor dealership to see if they carry power equipment. Many will have stock on hand, if not, they can order it in for you.

I lost my manual. how do I get another one?

All of our manuals are available on this website for your convenience.  Find your model through the drop menus, select your products page and the manual download button will be right after the spec list.

What fuel should I use?

For best results only use clean, fresh gasoline that is 86 octane or more. Having zero percent ethanol is best, but blends that are up to 10% ethanol are acceptable. Never mix oil into your fuel.

What oil should I use?

Always refer to the manual with your machine. Most of our engines use SAE 10W30 motor oil but you always double-check the manual.

Pressure Washers

What is PSI?

PSI is the abbreviation for Pounds per Square Inch. This is the measure of pressure, or force of the water coming out of the spray tip. It can be viewed as the speed of the water, or the stripping power. This will help determine how powerful the water stream will be.

What iS GPM

GPM is the abbreviation for Gallons Per Minute. This is the measure of the volume of water flowing out of the pump. It can be viewed as the weight of water, or the rinsing power. This will help determine how fast you can clean a surface.

How do I control the pressure?

You can control the pressure by how far you hold the spray tip from the surface. The angle of spray with also be a factor. The closer to the surface the greater the pressure. You can also purchase spray tips with large orifices that will reduce the pressure. Never adjust the engine or pump in an attempt to control the pressure.

How much water do I need to supply my pressure washer?

Your pressure washer must be supplied enough water to meet, and preferably exceed its GPM rating. GPM can be tested by getting a five-gallon container and fill it with your water source for one minute. Measure the amount filled to determine the GPM. It is recommended to have one extra GPM over the pressure washer rating to accommodate for any irregularities 

What kind of detergent can I use with my pressure washer?

The most important factor of the type of soap for a pressure washer is its viscosity. It must be thin like water because if it is too thick it will not work. We recommend using detergent that is specifically designed for pressure washers.

Can I use hot water with my pressure washer?

No. Never connect your pressure water to hot water. Your pressure washer needs to have cold water running into it to maintain temperature control of the pump. The only exception to this is if you pressure washer explicitly states it can be used with hot water intake.

Can I leave my pressure washer running while I go make a sandwich?

No. Never leave your pressure washer running without using it. The cooling system of the pump needs you to spray water at least every thirty seconds to flush the pump and have fresh, cool water run through it.

What should I do if the spray pattern changes or becomes erratic?

Remove the spray nozzle and inspect it. If clogged clean it, if damaged replace it.  Continued use of a malfunctioning nozzle can lead to pump damage.

How do I fix a leaking high-pressure hose?

You can’t. It must be replaced. Trying to repair a high-pressure hose may lead to further damage or injury.

How do I change the oil of the pressure washer pump?

Any pump with an oil sight gauge or dipstick will have a drain bolt that you would move. Some models, such as the MN317RX, have a sealed pump and there is no need to change the oil. (A sealed pump is identified by having no oil sight gauge, dipstick, or drain port).

Can I get aftermarket attachments for my pressure washer?

Yes. Your pressure washer has common fittings in the pressure washer industry. You will find many attachments you can use directly, or with an adapter.

Can I damage my car with a pressure washer?

Yes, if you put the tip too close to the paint or moldings the pressure washer can inflict damage. Especially if there is existing damage such as paint or glass chips. Always start at a safe distance and move in closer.

Can I use my pressure washer in freezing temperatures?

No. Operating in freezing temperatures can damage components of the pressure washer, as well cause problems to the items being sprayed. Never leave pressure washer in freezing temperatures. Always drain hoses and attachments before winter and use anti-freeze in the pump.

Why can't I pull the recoil?

There could be a few reasons. The first is that there is trapped pressure in the pump which can be solved by squeezing the trigger of the gun and keeping it squeezed while pulling the recoil. It could also be that the machine was tipped over and oil has splashed into the air filter, sparkplug or carburetor, in which case they would have to be cleaned or replaced.

What size is the green nozzle?

This question also applies to the other colors of spray nozzles. The color code is for how wide is the spray pattern. For example, the red is 0°, white is 15°, green is 25°, white is 40° and the black soaper nozzle is 65°.  The size of this hole the water comes out is referred to the orifice size. This number is stamped into the side of the spray nozzle as noted below.

 

Generators

What is a Watt, and why is my generator rated that way?

A watt is a unit of measure for power. It is calculated by multiplying volts and amps together. North America volts are constant for generators at either 120 or 240 volts, and the amps depends on the electric device being used. Watts is the industry standard method for rating generators.

What is peak starting watts?

Some electrical devices, especially those with move parts like air compressors, need a higher jolt of electricity to get them started. Once they have started, they need far less power to keep running. The peak watt rating of a generator is the maximum the it can deliver for a very short period of time to start up those devices.

What is running watts?

Running watts is the constant power a generator can reliably deliver while it is running.

Can I use my generator indoors?

No. All generator engines emit carbon monoxide which can be quickly become lethal. Since carbon monoxide displaces the oxygen in the air, normal respirators are not sufficient protection. When using engines, always have them outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

Can I plug my generator into my house circuit panel?

This can only be done if a two-way transfer switch has been installed by a qualified professional. If you plug your generator without one it will send electricity back into the power lines which can be very dangerous to any crews working on them.

What happens if I overload my generator?

The circuit breakers will automatically trip and switch off the power at the receptacles. You will need to unplug everything, and then reset the circuit breakers. It is recommended to avoid overloading your generator. Overloading it can lead to excessive wear or damage to its parts.

Can I start or stop my generator while devices are plugged into it?

No. Never have anything plugged into your generator when you turn it on or off.

Can I use my generator in the snow or rain?

No. Never use the generator where it can get wet. Electricity and water are a dangerous combination and need to be avoided.

What size of generator do I need to run a specific tool / appliance?

Always consider the power demand of the biggest item you want to use with the generator. You will need to know the volts and amp (including starting amps) requirement of the device. Once determined, you can select a generator that has enough power. It is usually beneficial to have more power available than the bare requirement.

What generator should I buy for my house?

Similar to the above question, you need to determine the total power demand of all the times you want to run during an emergency power outage. Then you need to get a generator big enough handle it all. Always factor the most critical items you want during a power outage first.

Water Pumps

Why is suction lift never more than 26 feet?

Due to the limits imposed by gravity and the weight of water the maximum lift is 26 feet for centrifugal-type water transfer pumps.

What does Prime mean?

For a water transfer pump, prime means that the pump is prefilled with water. These pumps will not work without being primed. Also, if they are run without water the mechanical seal can overheat and quickly fail.

 

Why won't my pump draw water?

The most common reason is because it hasn’t been primed. Do not run a pump without it being primed. Turn it off immediately and fill with water. The second most common reason is because there is an air leak on the suction side. Either through the threads or a small hole in the hose. Locate and seal any air leaks.

 

What is the difference between suction lift and discharge lift?

Suction lift is the vertical distance the fluid can be pulled into the pump. The discharge lift is the vertical distance the pump can push the fluid out of the pump.

 

When referring to water transfer pumps, what is the difference between the term 'lift' and 'head'?

These two terms are interchangeable. They express the vertical distance the water can be moved by the pump. It’s a matter of personal preference for which term is used.

 

Why is my pump leaking at the joint between the pump and the engine?

If the water is leaking at the joint between the pump and then engine then the mechanical seal needs to be replaced. This seal generally only fails if the pump was not primed, or lost prime.

 

How far will my water pump push water if it isn't going up in elevation?

The weight of water is the key limiting factor for how far the pump can move fluid in a vertical direction. If the water is being moved across a horizontal direction, then it can be pushed much greater distance. Eventually, the water friction over distance will prevent the water from moving, but it will be hundreds of feet. Due to all the factors that need to be considered, there is no rating for horizontal water movement.

Why is the GPM not as high as it says on the pump?

The GPM rating is the highest amount that can be achieved. The GPM is reduced the higher the discharge lift or if there is any pressure against the outflow.

Air Compressors

What oil should I use for my air compressor pump?

Use SAE 30W non-detergent oil for the pump. Do not use normal motor oil because the detergent will cause the seals to fail and the oil may foam causing the pump to over pressurize.

How often should I change the pump oil?

The first air compressor pump oil change should be in the first 20 hours of operation. This is the break-in period for the pump. Once this is changed, then follow your manuals instructions for further oil changes. In general, it should be from 50 to 100 hours of operation (or if the oil is visibly dirty based on the working conditions of the air compressor). Use SAE 30W non-detergent oil for the pump.

Do I have to break-in my air compressor?

It is recommended to break-in your air compressor to give it the longest life possible. To break it in, open up the tank drain valve so it will not build pressure. Then turn it on for ten minutes to let it run freely. Then turn it off, close the tank drain valve and it will be ready to go.

What is CFM?

CFM stands for Cubic Feet per Minute. It is the measurement of how much air can be moved by the air compressor. Since air tools need the air to pressurized, you need to the CFM rating at a specific pressure to understand the power of the air compressor. For example, 10 CFM at 90 PSI, means the air compressor can constantly provide 10 CFM pressurized to 90 PSI.

 

Can this air compressor run this tool?

Every tool will have a consumption rating of how much CFM it needs at a specific PSI. For example, an orbital sander may have a rating of 14 CFM at 90 PSI. If your air compressor cannot maintain that air demand, then the tool will only be able to operate properly for as long as you have enough reserve air in the tank. Once the tank is drained, the pump/motor is not able to keep up and the tool will lose power. Always check if the tool air consumption rating is intermittent, or constant use. For example, and impact gun will be used in short bursts compared to a sander that will be used for longer periods of time.

 

What is duty cycle of the air compressor?

The duty cycle is an expression of how much you can use an air compressor in a ten-minute time span without overheating it. For example, a 60% duty cycle means that in a ten-minute span it can be run a total of 6 minutes and should get 4 minutes rest to dissipate heat. You can run the air compressor non-stop, but this will build up heat and lead to heat damage and a shorter life span for the pump. In extreme cases, running an air compressor non-stop will eventually burn out the pump.
